MARY VERGIE LOONEY, 92 years of age of Maxie, Virginia passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, VA following an brief illness.  Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late William Bill and Margaret Deel Slone.  She was a lifelong residence of Buchanan County and was a member of the Little Jocie Old Regular Baptist Church

She was preceded in death by her husband: Crockett Looney, April 1, 2004.

            1-Son:          Jessie Looney and fiancé Janet Head        Maxie, VA

            1-Sister:      Van Rice                                                     Breaks, VA

           1-Brother:   William Roosevelt Slone                                Breaks, VA

She was preceded in death by 1-Son: Darriel Dean Looney, May 10, 2011, 1-Sister: Polly Deel in 2010, and 3-Brothers.

Funeral Services for MARY VERGIE LOONEY will be conducted Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Little Jocie Old Regular Baptist Church, Breaks, Virginia, with Elders: Toy Looney, A. B. Thacker, Mark Justice, and Jackie Yates officiating with burial to follow in the Deel Cemetery on Bull Mountain near Harman, Virginia.

Friends may call at the Little Jocie Old Regular Baptist Church, Wednesday after noon, January 25, 2012 at 5:00 P.M. with services at 7:00P.M.
