AMOS SPENCER, 87 years of age, of Hurley, VA passed away Friday, January 30, 2009 in Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, TN following an extended illness.  Born in West Virginia, he was a son of the late Paris and Ocie Cline Spencer.  He had been a resident of Buchanan County most of his life and was a member of the Old Sulphur Springs Regular Baptist Church and was a retired Coal Miner.  He was a devoted Husband, loving Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather and Great-Great-Grandfather.

Mr. Spencer was preceded in death by his wife: Bernice Dotson Spencer-May 5, 2002

Funeral Services for AMOS SPENCER will be conducted Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Bethany Bible Church near Kelsa, VA with Pastor Paul Rife officiating with burial to follow in the Dotson Cemetery on Right Fork of Paw Paw near Hurley, VA

Friends may call at the Bethany Bible Church Sunday afternoon at 3:00 P.M. with Services Sunday and Monday evenings at 7:00 P.M.
