ARNOLD DEEL, 78 years of age of Vansant, VA, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at the Buchanan General Hospital following a short illness.  Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Riley and Ferby Fuller Deel. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a member of the Vansant Church of Christ. Arnold worked as a Coal Miner for Beatrice-Pocahontas Coal Corporation and was a member of United Mine Workers of America Local Union No. 1374. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and loved hunting and fishing.

Mr. Deel is survived by his wife of 55-years, Magalene Deel, Vansant, VA, 3-Daughters: Karen Lou Justus and husband Steve, Hurley, VA, Ada Sue Bailey and husband Lonny, Cedar Bluff, VA, Mary Ellen Estep and husband David, Bluffton, SC, 1-Son: Randy Wayne Deel and wife Bernette, Clintwood, VA, 3-Sisters:   Floria Riffe, Pounding Mill, VA, Gertrude Ward and husband George, Pilgrim Knob, VA, Thelma Horn, Pilgrim Knob, VA, 9-Grandchildren: Misty Waller and husband Michael, Ivanho, VA, Chasidy Welch and husband David, Abingdon, VA, Courtney Bailey, Abingdon, VA, Ashlee Estep, Bluffton, SC, Devin Estep, Bluffton, SC, Dana Marie Deel, Norton, VA, Miranda Deel, Clintwood, VA, Christin Estep and husband Kevin, Bluffton, VA, Christina Mullins and husband Timmy, Paynesville, VA

He was preceded in death by several Brothers and Sisters.

Funeral Services for ARNOLD DEEL will be conducted Friday, May 6, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Evg. Mike Rife and Evg. Paul Potter officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Thursday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.
