ARTIE AGNES KEEN, 82 years of age of the Slate Creek Section of Grundy, VA, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at the Buchanan General Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Pike County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Mack and Mary Elizabeth Horn Keen. She was a resident of Buchanan County most of her life and was a member of Stacy Church of God. Mrs. Keen was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and was a former employee of Food City where she worked in the Deli.

Mrs. Keen was preceded in death by her husband: Hobert Martin Keen, December 22, 1961.

She is survived by 3-Daughters: Ann and husband Boyd Coleman, Rowe, VA, Ollie Jane Compton, Pilgrims Knob, VA, Joyce Gail Phillips, Lebanon, VA, 2-Sons: Mack Harvey and wife Anna Joyce Keen, Bristol, VA, Teddy Ray and wife Carol Keen, Bristol, TN, 1-Brother: Harry William and wife Fonda Keen, Swartz Creek, MI, Special Friends: Virgie Christian and Rose Marie Miller

Also, survived by 8-Grandchildren, 15-Great-Grandchildren, 3-Great-Great-Grandchildren, and several Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by 1-Daughter: Lois Jean Keen, 2-Sons: James Leslie and Hobert Keen Jr.; 2-Sisters: Thelma Desautels and Maudie Ward; and 3-Brothers: George Washington, Hobert Lee and Joseph Maywood Keen.

Funeral Services for ARTIE AGNES KEEN will be conducted Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 12:00 Noon at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Ministers: Ancil Childress, Jeff Mullins, Boyd Coleman and Don Smith officiating with burial to follow in the Esau Rife Cemetery on Keen Mountain, Keen Mountain, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Friday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Grandsons and Nephews.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Clint Sutherland, Dr. J.N. Patel and Dr. Pillai
