AUTY BUSTER McCLANAHAN, 81 years of age of Grundy, VA, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at his home following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Harve and Nannie Stiltner McClanahan. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a member of the Little Canaan Old Regular Baptist Church. Auty served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and was a Trucker.

Mr. McClanahan was preceded in death by his first wife, Annie Elizabeth Daugherty McClanahan, May 5, 1982 and his second wife, Polly Yates O’Quinn McClanahan, April 17, 2008.

He is survived by 1-Daughter: Kathy Lynn Loehning and husband Scott, Myrtle Beach, SC, 1-Son: Bernard McClanahan and fiancé Karen Wright, Grundy, VA, 2-Sisters: Mossie Lee Smith, Grundy, VA, Bertha Newsome and husband Phayon, Melbourne, FL

Also, survived by 1-Daughter-in-Law: Linda Jane McClanahan; 3-Grandchildren: Christopher Lee McClanahan, Walter Bradley Sheets and AnnaLee MaKenna McClanahan; 3-Step-Grandchildren: Brenda Puckett, Mark Owens and Billy Owens; 4-Great-Grandchildren: Trinity Sheets, Kaleigh Sheets, Hannah Sheets and Benjamin Sheets; and several Nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by 4-Sisters: Draxie McClanahan, Maxie Dale, Mona Looney and Lillian Howell; 3-Brothers: Roby, Kirby and Hatler McClanahan.

Funeral Services for AUTY BUSTER McCLANAHAN will be conducted Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Russell Prater Old Regular Baptist Church with Elders: Rickey Mullins, Jimmy Dale Sanders, Clyde Lewis, Ralph Mullins and Freelen Yates officiating with burial to follow in the Stiltner Cemetery near Bethlehem Old Regular Baptist Church on Poplar Creek, Grundy, VA.

Friends may call at the Russell Prater Old Regular Baptist Church on Greenbrier Thursday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services Thursday and Friday evenings at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Radford Rice, Harold Woods, Billy Owens, Scott Loehning, James Stiltner, and Jackie McClanahan.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Rodney Deel, Delano Dale, Jimmy Dean Yates, Clinton Yates, Basil Yates, Freddie Blankenship and his Beloved Brothers in the Church.
