BENNY EDWARD CANTRELL, 65 years old of State Line Ridge section of Grundy, Virginia, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, KY, following an extended illness.  Born in Pike Co. Ky, he was the son of the late Grover Cantrell and Ruby Matney Cantrell Sawyers.  He was a retired Security Officer at the Buchanan General Hospital and the Appalachian School of Law and was a former employee for the Southwest Coal Corporation. 

Mr. Cantrell is survived by his wife of 40 years, Brenda Kennedy Cantrell Grundy, VA, One Daughter - Crystal Waddell, Grundy, VA, One Son - Jared and his wife Alyssa Cantrell, Breaks, VA, Two Brothers - Steven and his wife Carolyn Cantrell, Lick Creek, KY, Jerry and his wife Pam Cantrell, Pikeville, KY

Four Grandchildren – Indya Williamson, Irelyn Cantrell, Kennedy Waddell and Cody Waddell.

Funeral services for BENNY EDWARD CANTRELL will be conducted Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 P.M. with Evg. Frank Crum and Larry Gene Addair officiating with entombment to follow in the Mountain Rest Mausoleum at the Mountain Valley Memorial Park at Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel after 5:00 P.M. Monday and there will be an evening service at 7:00 P.M.
