BENNY YATES, 49 years of age, of Vansant, VA passed away Thursday, September 18, 2008, at Wellmont Hospice House, Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, TN following an extended illness.  Born in Buchanan County, he was a son of the late David and Trula Osborne Yates. He was a life-long resident of Buchanan County and was a disabled Coal Miner.

Mrs. Yates is survived by 1-Son: David Junior Yates, Vansant, VA, 3-Sisters: Molly and Husband Burton Diles, Vansant, VA, Rita Estep, Raven, VA, Phyllis Jean Yates, Vansant, VA, 1-Brothers: Jimmy Lee Yates, Vansant, VA

Also, survived by 7-Nieces and Nephews

He was preceded in death by 2-Brothers: Danny Yates, Clyde Junior Yates

Funeral Services for BENNY YATES will be conducted Sunday, September 21, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Larry Ratliff officiating with burial to follow in the Dry Fork Cemetery on Dry Fork near Vansant, VA

Friends may call at Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Saturday afternoon at 5:00 P.M. with Services at 7:00 P.M.
