BERTIE LEE HAYES STILTNER, 88 years of age of Big Rock, VA, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2008 at the Buchanan General Hospital, Grundy, VA, following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late John Lewis and Eliza J. Justice Hayes. She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a member of the Jesus Outreach Church at Big Rock, VA. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and was a wonderful homemaker. Mrs. Stiltner was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Stiltner was preceded in death by her husband: Quillen Stiltner.

She is survived by 4-Daughters: Nina Mae Smith, Big Rock, VA, Roberta and husband Willard Grizzle, Big Rock, VA, Linda and husband Johnny Ramsey, Big Rock, VA, Judy Croninger, McClure, OH, 3-Sons; James Jr. and wife Sue Lester, Big Rock, VA, Arville Stiltner, Big Rock, VA, Ralph and wife Shelia Stiltner, Big Rock, VA

Also, survived by 48-Grandchildren, 58-Great-Grandchildren, 9-Great-Great-Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by 5-Sons: Billy, Leroy, Ronnie, Ricky and Gregory Stiltner; 2-Brothers: Billy Lester and Arvil Hayes and 5-Grandchildren.

Funeral Services for BERTIE LEE HAYES STILTNER will be conducted Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Willard Grizzle officiating with burial to follow in the Elsie Lester Cemetery, Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Monday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services Monday and Tuesday evenings at 7:00 P.M. 

Active Pallbearers will be Grandchildren.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Family and Friends.
