BERTINA WHITE DESKINS, 61 years of age of North Tazewell, VA, formerly of Buchanan County, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2008 at the Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, TN, following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late Columbus and Lola Harris White. She was a resident of Buchanan County most of her life and was of the Pentecostal Faith. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and was a wonderful Homemaker.

Mrs. Deskins is survived by her husband: Wayne Deskins, North Tazewell, VA, 3-Daughters: Loretta and husband Todd Elswick, Oakwood, VA, Coria Childress, Oakwood, VA, Martha and husband David Crawford, St. Paul, VA, 2-Sisters: Shirley Cassell, Georgia, Gertie Mae Meadows, Kingsport, TN, 3-Brothers: Oscar Lee White, Oakwood, VA, Luther White, Jewell Ridge, VA, Garfield White, Jewell Ridge, VA

Also, survived by 4-Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by 2-Sisters and 4-Brothers.

Funeral Services for BERTINA WHITE DESKINS will be conducted Thursday, November 6, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Ministers: Henry Whitt and Ancil Childress officiating with burial to follow in Esau Rife Cemetery, Keen Mountain, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday afternoon at 5:00 P.M. with services Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at 7:00 P.M.
