BETTY MAE HAMILTON DAUGHERTY, 73 years of age of Maxie, VA, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at the Wellmont-Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, TN, following an extended illness. Born in Dickenson County, VA, she was the daughter of the late George and Betty Mae Yates Hamilton. She was a resident of Buchanan County most of her life and was a member of the Grundy Church of Christ. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and was a wonderful homemaker. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Daugherty was preceded in death by her husband, Burla William Daugherty, July 24, 2001.

She is survived by 2-Sons: Ronald William Daugherty, Maxie, VA, Eddie Lee Daugherty, Maxie, VA

She was preceded by 1-Infant Brother.

Funeral Services for BETTY MAE HAMILTON DAUGHERTY will be conducted Friday, May 7, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Sliger and Pim Griffey officiating with burial to follow at the Mudlick Cemetery, Maxie, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Thursday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be family and friends.
