
BILLY CLEVINGER WOODRUM, 85 years of age of the Poplar
Creek Section of Grundy, Virginia passed away Friday, November 12, 2010 at his
home following an extended illness. Born February 4, 1925 at Belle Point, West
Virginia, he was the son of the late Phil and Elster Clevinger Woodrum. He was
a retired former partner of Lonzo Ratliff Cash Store and Ratliff Farm & Home
Supply. He served in the US Navy during World War II and was rated A.S. 52nd
S/C on Destroyer U. S. S. OToole DE-527. Mr. Woodrum was a Former Deacon of
the Poplar Creek Church of Christ serving as a Sunday School Superintendent, and
was a Choir Member. He was also a member of the John Ratliff Post # 164 of the
American Legion and of Childs Gentry Post # 7360 of the Veterans of Foreign
Wars.

is survived by his wife of 64 years, Nell Duty Woodrum, Grundy, VA;

and Husband Marc, Ralph Joseph Ratliff, William Thomas Ratliff, David Lewis
Woodrum, Jr., and Wife Cathy, Sarah Lee Ann Daniels, Malcolm Lee Daniels, Jr. and
Wife Summer, Lora Gale Duty, Tiny Beth Duty; 4-Great Grandchildren: Rachel
Ferguson, Thomas Ferguson, Danielle Sturgill, and Elizabeth Sturgill; 1-Beloved
Nephew: John Duty and Wife Lesa; also, survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was
preceded in death by a twin brother Bob Neal Woodrum.
Funeral
Services for BILLY CLEVINGER WOODRUM will be conducted Tuesday, November
16, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Poplar Creek Church of Christ with Evgs. Raffael
Farrow and Mike Rife officiating with burial to follow in the Mountain Valley
Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.
Friends may
call at the Poplar Creek Church of Christ on Monday evening, November 15, 2010
from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
