BILLY JOE WHITT, 66 years of age of the Lesters Fork area near Hurley, Virginia, passed away, Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at the Greystone Health Care in Blountville, TN following an extended illness.  Born in Harlan, KY., he was the son of the late Curtis and Gracie Simpsons Whitt.  He was a member of the Elkins Branch Pentecostal Church and was a retired Coal Miner.

He is survived by his wife, Florence Lester Whitt, Grundy, VA, Three daughters – Rhonda Justus, Hurley, VA, Kersta Justus, Hurley, VA, Tabatha Blankenship, Hurley, VA, Seven sons - Louie Whitt, Hurley, VA, Billy Joe, Jr. and wife Melissa Whitt, Hurley, VA, Isaac Whitt, Hurley, VA, B. J. Justus, Hurley, VA, Nathan and wife Carissa Justus, Jacksonville, NC, Josh Justus, Hurley, VA, Allen and wife Brenda Charles, Claypool, IN, Three Sisters - Stella and husband Don Krankkala, Arizona, Edna Cunningham, Moundsville, WV, Anna Bryant, Clearwater, FL, Three Brothers – Woodrow and wife Virgie Whitt, Blountville, TN, Eugene and wife Mary Whitt, Hurley, VA, Thurman and wife Linda Mullins, Paintsville, KY 

He is also survived by nine grandchildren: Alyssa Whitt, Whitney Whitt, Celina Whitt, Billie Whitt, Curtis Whitt, Dylan Justus, Dominick Hurley, Gabriel Stacy and Isiah Stacy.

Funeral services for BILLY JOE WHITT will be conducted Monday, June 27, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Elkins Branch Pentecostal Church on Slate Creek with Rev. Ronald Lester, Rev. James Chapman, Rev. Roscoe Crouse and Rev. Curtis Crouse officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park at Big Rock, Virginia.

Friends may call at the Elkins Branch Pentecostal Church after 6:00 P.M. Saturday with services Saturday and Sunday evenings  at 7 P.M.
