BOBBY JOE “BIG EYE” SKEENS, 73 years old of the Brown Bottom section of Big Rock, Virginia, passed away; Saturday June 4, 2011 at the Bristol Wellmont Medical Center in Bristol, TN following a brief illness.  Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Charlie and Linda Cooper Skeens.  He was a retired Coal Truck Driver, enjoyed Nascar, Softball and Tennis.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel Mae Gibson Skeens, Big Rock, VA, Two daughters – Lesa and her husband John Duty, Grundy, VA, Beth and her husband Imran Baloch, Chandler, AZ, Two sons - Madison “Tiny” and his wife Patty Cabbell, Martinsville, Ind., Thomas Cabbell, Mooresville, Ind., One Brother - Bud Skeens, Yorktown, VA

He is also survived by nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother – Donald “Duck” Skeens.

Funeral services for BOBBY JOE “BIG EYE” SKEENS will be conducted Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Evg.Terry Cantrell officiating with burial to follow in the Mountain Valley Memorial Park at Big Rock, Virginia.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home after 6:00 P.M Monday.

Active Pallbearers will be Family and Friends.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Thurlin Chafins, Jeremy Chafins, Donny Reynolds, Dr. Motos, Dr. Gwaltney, Dr. Williams,  Eddie Taylor Dr. Rowell and James Smith.
