BONNIE LOONEY THACKER, 64 years of age of the Deskins Section of Vansant, VA, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at the Wellmont-Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, TN, following a brief illness. Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late Walter Muncy and Vinia Matney Looney. She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was an active member of the Victory Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and was a wonderful homemaker.

Mrs. Thacker is survived by her husband, Billy Ray Thacker, Vansant, VA, 2-Daughters: Pamela Denise Looney and husband Steven, Maysville, VA, Shanna Irene Dixon and husband Mark, Meadowview, VA, 1-Son: Jessie Lee Thacker, Vansant, VA, 2-Sisters: Linda Ellen Kistner and husband Keith, Bristol, TN, Jean Keen, Vansant, VA, 3-Brothers: Walter Muncy Looney and wife Bobbie Jean, Vansant, VA, Earl Lee Looney and wife Peggy, Vansant, VA, Tommy Looney and wife Carol, Abingdon, VA

Also, survived by 4-Grandchildren: Shasta Marquea Jackson and husband Adam, Sarah Morgan Looney, Seth Dalton Looney and Ryland N. Thacker, and several Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by 1-Brother: Starlin “Tot” Looney.

Funeral Services for BONNIE LOONEY THACKER will be conducted Friday, April 8, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Ministers: Larry Ratliff and Phillip Cook officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Thursday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Terry Looney, Scott Looney, Chris Kistner, Kenneth Horne, Larry Boyd, Charlie Yates, Earl White and Dave Teike.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Seth Looney, Riland Thacker and Men of the Victory Baptist Church.
