BURLIN “PETE” J. HURLEY, 70 years of age of Richlands, VA passed away Saturday, July 18, 2009, at Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, VA following an extended illness.  Born in Buchanan County, VA he was a son of the George Thomas and Laura Alta Ratliff Hurley.  He was a retired employee from Cochran’s Block.

He is survived by 1-Daughter: Deborah Vanover, Richlands, VA, 2-Sons: Michael Hurley and Fiancée Arlene Griffey, Richlands, VA, Jeffery Hurley, Cleveland, OH, 3-Sisters: Lorriane Lane, Grundy, VA, Viola Swiney, Harman, VA, Ermil Swiney, High Point, NC, 2-Brothers: Delbert and wife Ellen Hurley, Grundy, VA, Tivis Hurley, Gainesville, FL

Also survived by 8-Grandchildren, and 1-Great Grandchild. 

He was preceded in death 1-Sister:  Gladie Dales, and 1-Brother:  Lee Ellis Hurley.

Funeral services for BURLIN J. HURLEY will be conducted Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at 11:00 A.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Evangelist Ken Runyon officiating with burial to follow in the Smith Branch Cemetery on Slate Creek, Grundy, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Monday evening at 6:00 P.M. with Services Monday and Tuesday evenings at 7:00 P.M.
