CAROL JEAN VANDYKE KEEN, 68 years of age of Bluefield, VA, formerly of Buchanan County, passed away Monday, October 26, 2009. Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late George Carl and Virgie Mae Deel Vandyke. She was a resident of Buchanan County several years prior to moving to Bluefield, VA, and was a dedicated, loving member of the Maple View Church of Christ, Bluefield, WV, which she loved.

Mrs. Keen was a graduate of Grundy High School Class of 1959 and Graduated from Draughn School of Business earning a degree in Accounting. She was a licensed real estate agent in West Virginia and a former employee of Sentry Land & Home. She traveled with her husband while he served in the United States Air Force to several locations in the United States and world wide.  She was a loyal supporter of Mountain Mission School and the Mountain Mission School Alumni Association. She was a devoted wife and loving daughter.

Mrs. Keen is survived by her husband: David J. (D.J.) Keen, Bluefield, VA, 1-Sister: Janice Sue Bartley, Deel, VA, 2-Brothers: Sonny and wife Geneva Vandyke, Rowe, VA, Jimmy and wife Betty Vandyke, Dayton, OH

Also, survived by several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Funeral Services for CAROL JEAN VANDYKE KEEN will be conducted Wednesday Evening, October 28, 2009 at 7:30 P.M. at the Mountain Mission School Sublett Chapel, Grundy, VA, with Evg. Tony Reed and Evg. William L. Neeley officiating. A Memorial Service will be conducted Thursday Evening, October 29, 2009 at 7:00 P.M. at the Maple View Church of Christ, Bluefield, WV. Interment will take place in Mountain Home National Veterans Cemetery, Johnson City, TN.

Friends may call at the Mountain Mission School Sublett Chapel Wednesday evening at 6:30 P.M.

Honorary Pallbearers will be family and friends.
