CLARENCE “CATFISH” SHORTRIDGE, JR,  67 years of age of the Little Prater Section of Grundy, VA passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at Buchanan General Hospital, Grundy, VA from a extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Clarence Shortridge, Sr. and Susie Justus Shortridge.  He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County was formerly employed as a Mechanic.   

Mr. Shortridge is survived by:  1-Sister: Helen Delores and husband Elmer Lester, Haysi, VA; 4-Brothers: Henry Shortridge, Hurley, VA, Dale Shortridge, Hurley, VA, Wayne Shortridge, Hurley, VA, Dean Shortridge, Hurley, VA.  Also, survived by 1-Niece and 1-Nephew.

He was preceded in death by 1-Sister Margaret Ferguson and 1-Brother Billy Ray Shortridge.

Funeral Services for CLARENCE “CATFISH” SHORTRIDGE, JR. will be conducted Friday, July 9, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Evgs. Dennis Wimmer and Tom Cooper officiating with burial to follow in Shortridge Cemetery on Cripple Creek – Little Prater, Grundy, VA. 

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Thursday afternoon at 5:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.
