CLIFFORD SHORTRIDGE, 74 years of age of Grundy, VA, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2009 at the Select Specialty Hospital, Bristol, TN, following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Sim Franklin and Lydia Ann Newberry Shortridge. He was a resident of Buchanan County most of his life. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and was a lineman for the N.G. Gilbert Power Company and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

Mr. Shortridge was preceded in death by his wife: Frankie Ruth Shortridge.

He is survived by 2-Daughters: Glenda Sue Price and husband Patrick O’Doherty, Howell, MI, Melissa Ann and husband Donald Trotter, Howell, MI, 1-Son: John Clifford and wife Dawn Shortridge, Howell, MI, 2-Brothers: William and wife Bonnie Shortridge, New Port Ritchie, FL, Henry C. Shortridge, Grundy, VA, 1-Granddaughter: Baylei Breann O’Doherty, Howell, MI, 4-Grandsons: John Thomas and wife Jennifer Price, Howell, MI, John Clifford Shortridge, Jr., Howell, MI, Dustin Michael Piesko, Howell, MI, Hunter David Piesko, Howell, MI

Also, survived by 2-Great-Grandsons: Dylan McKay Price and Kyle Ray Price, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by 2-Sisters: June Boyd and Stella Ann Bostic and 1-Brother: Clarence Shortridge.

Funeral Services for CLIFFORD SHORTRIDGE will be conducted Sunday, September 13, 2009 at 2:30 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Evg. Bill Boyd officiating with burial to follow in the Shortridge Family Cemetery on Cripple Creek on Little Prater near Grundy, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Saturday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Nursing Staff of Select Specialty Hospital and Total Home Care.
