CLINTON C. CLEVENGER, 64 years of age of Grundy, VA, passed on to his Heavenly Home Thursday, September 29, 2011 following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was a son of the late Burlin Clevinger and Elsie Deel Clevinger Justus, Grundy, VA. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County, was an avid hunter and fisherman, a member of the Harman Memorial Baptist Church where he loved his Lord, Family and Friends to the fullest extent and served in the United States Air Force with a tour in the Vietnam War. He was a graduate of Grundy High School and attended Business College.

Mr. Clevenger was retired from Superior Highwall Miner, Inc., of Beckley, WV

He is survived by his wife of 42 years – Carol Rice Clevenger, Grundy, VA

2 Daughters: Vanessa Clevenger Looney and husband Jeff Christiansburg, VA Miranda Clevenger and fiancé: James Justice Grundy, VA

One son: Brant Clevenger Moneta, VA

One Brother: Jerry Clevinger and wife Nell Harman, VA

He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister – Thelma Clevinger Grizzle.

Funeral services for CLINTON C. CLEVENGER will be conducted Sunday, October 2, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Shea Shrader officiating with burial to follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Saturday evening at 6:00 P.M.

Active pallbearers will be Brant Clevenger, Jared Looney, Canaan Looney, Greg Thomas, Frank Nett and Steve Atoline.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Billy Clevinger, Steve Vance, Ron Rice, Alfred Rice, Rick Frye, Jeff Looney and Men of Harman Memorial Baptist Church.

Full Military Rites will be conducted at the Cemetery by members of the John Ratliff Post No. 164 of the American Legion.

The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be made in the form of contributions to the Harman Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 320, Maxie, VA 24628.
