DANNY LEE RAMEY, 67 years of age of Rural Retreat, VA, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2008 at Wytheville, VA, following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Albert C. and Winnie Hill Ramey. He was a resident of Buchanan County most of his life, prior to moving to Rural Retreat, VA, and was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Ramey served in the United States Marines. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, was a retired coal miner where he worked for Console Coal Corp. Mr. Ramey was a member of United Mine Workers of America for 40-years and a member of John Ratliff Post No. 164 of the American Legion.

Mr. Ramey is survived by his wife: Ermal Mae Stiltner Ramey, Rural Retreat, VA, 2-Sons: Jeffery and wife Jennifer Ramey, Rural Retreat, VA, Michael and wife Kim Ramey, Abingdon, VA, 1-Sister: Doris Ward, Grundy, VA, 4-Grandchildren: Ashlee Ramey-Brooks, Hill AFB, UT, Katelynn Ramey, At Home, Emilee Ramey, At Home, Allen Lee Ramey, At Home

Funeral Services for DANNY LEE RAMEY will be conducted Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ralph Smith officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday evening at 6:00 P.M. with song services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Family and Friends.

Full Military Rites will be conducted at the cemetery by Members of John Ratliff Post No. 164 of the American Legion.
