DARRELL YOUNG VIERS, 61 years of age, of North Tazewell, VA formerly of Buchanan County, passed away Friday, June 19, 2009, at Tazewell County Community Hospital, Tazewell, VA following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was a son of the late Adres James and Elberta Charles Viers.  He was a member of the Prater Creek Primitive Baptist Church and was a retired employee of United Coal Company.

Mr. Viers is survived by his wife: Pauline Jo Franklin Viers- North Tazewell, VA. 

He is survived by 3-Sons:  James Donald Viers, North Tazewell, VA; James Robert Viers, North Tazewell, VA; Christopher Darrell and Wife: Crystal Viers  Randleman, NC; 3-Sisters: Annastine Viers, North Tazewell, VA; Martha Jean Viers, North Tazewell, VA; Lovella Meadows, Paynesville, Ohio; and 1-Brother: Kent W and Wife: Betty Viers, North Tazewell, VA.

Also, survived by 7-Grandchildren several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services for DARRELL YOUNG VIERS will be conducted Monday, June 22, 2009, at 1:00 P.M.at Prater Creek Primitive Baptist Church, near Vansant, VA with Elders: Jeffrey Arnold, Little Jimmy Moore, Carl Campbell, Keith Bowers, Buford Stacy, Scott Childress and Elza L. Mullins officiating with burial to follow in the Charlie Childress Cemetery on Slope Street, North Tazewell, VA.

Friends may call at the Prater Creek Primitive Baptist Church near Vansant, VA Sunday afternoon at 5:00 P.M. with Services at 7:00 P.M.
