DAVID VESTAL MCCLANAHAN, 76 years of age of Floyd, VA, formerly of Grundy, VA, passed away Friday, April 22, 2011 from a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Buchanan County, Virginia, he was the son of the late James A (Jim) and Lula Stevenson McClanahan. Mr. McClanahan was retired from Federal Mogul, Blacksburg, VA with 28 years of service. He leaves behind many friends and hunting buddies to cherish his memory.

Daphine McClanahan Davis, Roanoke, VA, Kitty McClanahan, Shawsville, VA, 1-Brother: L.C. McClanahan and wife Susie, Denton, NC

Also, survived by a host of nieces and nephews and two loving brothers-in-law, Ron Rakes and Don Davis who took care of him in the last days of his life.

He was preceded in death by 3-Brothers: Clifford, Ed, and Curtis McClanahan and 1-Sister: Marjorie McClanahan Hale.  

Graveside Rites for DAVID VESTAL MCCLANAHAN will be conducted Monday, April 25, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Mountain Valley Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Minister Bill Boyd officiating with burial to follow at the Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Sunday evening at 6:00 P.M. for visitation.

Active Pallbearers will be Don Davis, Ron Rakes, Billman Elswick, Kermit Vance, Gary Hale, and Tony Ling.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Mark Clemmons and Dakota Finney.
