DOLLIE MAE SHORTRIDGE RATLIFF, 71 years of age of Vansant, VA, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at the Heritage Hall Nursing Home following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late Andy and Cora Keen Shortridge. She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a member of the Vansant Church of Christ. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and was a Retired Employee of the Buchanan County School System.

Mrs. Ratliff was preceded in death by her husband: Kenneth Henry Ratliff, June 27, 2003.

She is survived by 1-Son: Kenneth Benjamin and wife Leigh Ratliff, Vansant, VA, 1-Grandson: Kenneth Henry Ratliff II, Vansant, VA, 1-Sister: Bonnie and husband James Copenhaver, Abingdon, VA, 4-Brothers: Hearl and wife Ilene Shortridge, Vansant, VA, Jim and wife Della Shortridge, Vansant, VA, Henry and wife Helen Shortridge, Grundy, VA, Chester and wife Lillian Shortridge, Raven, VA

Also, survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by 2-Brothers: Roy and Franklin D. Shortridge.

Funeral Services for DOLLIE MAE SHORTRIDGE RATLIFF will be conducted Friday, January 9, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Evg. Mike Rife officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Thursday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Randy Shortridge, Jerry Shortridge, Tim Shortridge, Eddie Wilson, Jason Copenhaver and David Addington.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. J.G. Patel, Staff of Heritage Hall, Employees of Keen Mountain Correctional Center, 3^rd Floor Nursing Staff of Buchanan General Hospital, Employees of Magic Mart, Mickey & Sandy McGlothlin, Judy Street and Jimmy Shortridge.
