DONNIE RAY STACY, 54 years old of the Slate Creek section of Grundy, Virginia, passed away at his home Saturday, January 10, 2009.  Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Simon and Myrtle Blankenship Stacy.  He was a avid Miami Dolphins Fan, Hunter and Nascar fan.   He enjoyed the outdoors and his grandsons.  He was a retired Coal Miner having worked in the mining industry for 34 years and was of the Christian faith.

 Mr Stacy is survived by his wife of 34 years, Dinah Rowe Stacy of Grundy, Virginia. Two daughters: Vanessa and her husband Jeff Justus, Hurley, VA, Valerie and her husband Anthony Adams, Big Rock, VA, One Son: Donnie Ray Stacy of the Home, Three Sisters: Della and her husband Tarzan McCoy, Hurley, VA, Hazel and her husband Ed Gibson, Wolford, VA, Emma Binion, Hickory, NC, Sister-in-law: Donna and her husband Danny Thompson, Grundy, VA, Brother-in-law: Jessie Rowe, Hurley, VA, Father and Mother-in-Law: Rev. Henry and Audrey Rowe, Hurley, VA, Two Grandchildren: Jared Justus and Jayden Justus, Three Step-Grandchildren: Shasta, Shane and Kenneth Adams, and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by 3 Sisters – Oma Rasnick, Geneva Stacy and Pauline Young and five brothers – Vestil, Earl, Carl, Bobby and Junior Stacy.

Funeral services for DONNIE RAY STACY will be conducted Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Knox Creek Church of God in Jesus Name on Knox Creek with Revs., Danny Hess, Willard Grizzle and Charlie Kennedy officiating with burial to follow in the Willis Blankenship Cemetery on Knox Creek near Hurley, VA.

Friends may call at the Knox Creek Church of God in Jesus Name on Knox Creek after 6:00 P.M. Monday and there will be services Tuesday evening at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Family and Friends.
