DOROTHA LOIS McCLANAHAN,
80 years of
age of the Looney’s Creek section of Grundy, Virginia, passed away at the
Mayfair House in Richlands, Virginia, Tuesday, February 2, 2010 following an
extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late
Dorsey W. and Carrie Belcher McClanahan. She was a member of the Grundy Baptist
Church and served the citizens of Buchanan County for 42 years as the Deputy
Clerk of the Buchanan County Circuit Court Clerk’s office.
Ms. McClanahan is
survived by 2-Sisters: Faye Horne, Grundy, VA, Bonnie Cleo McClanahan, Atlanta,
GA, 3-Brothers: Edison Carlye McClanahan, Wyandotte, MI, Estin Rudolph and wife
Betty McClanahan, The Plains, VA, Roger Wilson McClanahan, Peterstown, WV
Also, survived by
several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in
death by 1-Sister: Margaret Verrolee Compton and 1-Brother: Elster Monroe
McClanahan.
Funeral Services for
DOROTHA LOIS McCLANAHAN will be conducted Friday, February 5, 2010 at 11:00
A.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donald E. Tittle officiating
with Eulogy by niece, Cathy McClanahan and Special Music by Leslie Horne with
burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.
Friends may call at the
Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Thursday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00
P.M.
Active Pallbearers will
be Nephews: Rodney Horne, Wayne McClanahan and Freelin McClanahan and Cousins:
John Belcher, Bryan Belcher and Albert Smith.
Honorary Pallbearers
will be the Legal Profession of Buchanan County.
