EARL RAMEY, 80 years of age of San Antonio, TX, formerly of Buchanan County, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2008 in San Antonio, TX, following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Charles “Taw” and Pearl McClanahan Ramey. He was a retired Coal Miner and was of the Pentecostal Faith.

Mr. Ramey was preceded in death by his wife: Loudean Looney Ramey.

He is survived by 1-Daughter: Jennifer Belcher, Grundy, VA, 5-Sons: Larry and wife Regina Ramey, Bluefield, WV, Jerry and wife Joan Ramey, Abingdon, VA, Randy and wife Rhonda Ramey, Prater, VA, Michael Ramey, Oakwood, VA, Gary and wife Teresa Ramey, North Tazewell, VA, 1-Sister: Effie Potter, Oakwood, VA.

Also, survived by 2-Granddaughters: Summer Belcher, Christie Bailey; 1-Great-Granddaughter: Savannah Ramey.

He was preceded in death by 1-Grandson: Jerry Allen Ramey, 2-sisters: Madelyn Bishop and Ruth Martin; and 2-Brothers: Hassel and Eugene Ramey.

Graveside Services for EARL RAMEY will be conducted Sunday, August 24, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at the Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA, with Rev. Larry Ramey officiating with burial to follow.

Friends may call at Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Sunday from 12:00 Noon – 1:30 P.M. with  Graveside Services to follow at 2:00 P.M. at the Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers will be Family and Friends.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Renee Thompson, Christie Bailey and Summer Belcher.
