EDDIE COOPER, SR. 57 years of age of the Home Creek section of Grundy, Virginia, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2011 at the Select Specialty Hospital on the campus of Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, TN.  Born in McDowell County, WV, he was the son of the late William Cooper Sr. and Ray Smith Cooper Patterson.  He was of the Holiness Faith and attended the Two Hands for Christ Community Church. He was a Disabled Coal Miner and was a 1972 graduate of Welch High School.

Mr. Cooper is survived by his wife, Aldeana Slone Cooper, Grundy, VA, One daughter - Stephanie Cooper, Charlotte, NC, One Step Daughter – Tonya Stevens, Grundy, VA, Three sons - Eddie Cooper Jr, Wyoming, Stephen Cooper, Charlotte, NC, Michael Patterson, Coeburn, VA, Four Sisters - Brenda Jamison, Cleveland, OH, Tonie Corbin, Newport News, VA, Prince Anne Patterson, New York, Daisy Mae Patterson, Charleston, WV, Five Brothers - William Cooper Jr. and his wife Eunice, Newport News, VA, Elijah Cooper and Wife, Newport News, VA, Robert Cooper and his wife Erma, Newport News, VA, Fredrick Patterson and his wife Donna, South Carolina, Benjamin Patterson, New York

He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nine siblings and one grandchild.

Funeral Services for EDDIE COOPER SR. will be conducted Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Chapman and Tommy Conn officiating with cremation to follow.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.
