
EDISON CARYLE
McCLANAHAN,
85 years of
age of Wyandotte, MI, formerly of Buchanan County, passed away Tuesday, December
14, 2010 at the Henry Ford Hospital, Wyandotte, MI, following an extended
illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Dorsey and Carrie
Belcher McClanahan. He was a resident of Buchanan County many years prior to
moving to Michigan and served in the United States Marines at Guam Island and
Okinawa Island during World War II where he received a Certificate of
Satisfactory Service and earned the rank of Private First Class. He was a loving
father, son and brother and was an Automobile Factory Worker.
Mr.
McClanahan is survived by 2-Sons: Freelin and wife Dawn McClanahan, New Boston,
MI, Eddie and wife Geri McClanahan, New Boston, MI, 2-Sisters: Bonnie Cleo
McClanahan, Atlanta, GA, Faye Horne, Grundy, VA,
2-Brothers:
Estin Rudolph and wife Betty McClanahan, The Plaines, VA, Roger Wilson
McClanahan, Peterstown, WV.
Also,
survived by 3-Grandchildren: Tangielia Meyers, Falon and husband Kevin Mullins
and Brandon McClanahan; 3-Great-Grandchildren: Isaac Meyers, Shane Meyers and
Evan Mullins; and several Nieces and Nephews.
He was
preceded in death by 2-Sisters: Dorotha Lois McClanahan, Margaret Verrolee
Compton and 1-Brother: Elster Monroe McClanahan.
Funeral
Services for EDISON CARYLE McCLANAHAN will be conducted Sunday, December
19, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donald E.
Tittle officiating with burial to follow in the Mountain Valley Memorial Park,
Big Rock, VA.
Friends may
call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Saturday evening at 6:00 P.M. with
services at 7:00 P.M.

Pallbearers will be Family and Friends.
Full Military
Rites will be conducted at the cemetery by Members of Child’s Gentry Post No.
7360 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
