E.E. “RED” O’QUINN, 84 years of age of Jolo, WV, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at the Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, TN, following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late William Bertie and Maude Ellen Owens O’Quinn. He was a resident of McDowell County most of his life and was of the Pentecostal faith. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, father-in-law and friend. He was a retired Coal Miner with 52-years of services, a retired employee of Island Creek VP #1 and was a member of UMWA Local Union No. 1509. Red enjoyed time with his family and watching NASCAR Racing.

Mr. O’Quinn was preceded in death by his wife: Draxie Mullins O’Quinn, May 21, 1980.

He is survived by 1-Daughter: Sharlene McIntosh, Bradshaw, WV, 5-Sons: Danny and wife Patty O’Quinn, Atwell, WV, Larry and wife Linda Gail O’Quinn, Jolo, WV, Gary and wife Cathy O’Quinn, Jolo, WV, Ernie and wife Linda Church, Sevierville, TN, Michael and wife Crystal Church, Sevierville, TN, 4-Sisters: Ruby O’Quinn, Portland, OR, May Shook, Wytheville, VA, Bertha Owens, Buckeye Lake, OH, Patty June O’Quinn, Buckeye Lake, OH, 3-Brothers: Henry O’Quinn, Atwell, WV, Albert O’Quinn, Baltimore, MD, James O’Quinn, Buckeye Lake, OH, 1-Daughter-in-Law: Carol O’Quinn, Oakwood, VA, 1-Son-in-Law: Billy Ray Underwood                                                      

Also, survived by 12-Grandchildren: Pamela Coleman, Jennifer McNiel, Timothy O’Quinn, Tammy Ward, Michael P. McIntosh, Larry O’Quinn, Jr., Melissa Roberts, Justin Underwood, Dillon Underwood, Candy Church, Mikey Church and Kristia Church, 13-Great-Grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by 2-Children: Sherman Harold O’Quinn and Tina Underwood; 1-Sister: Trula Gay Deel; 3-Brothers: Tom O’Quinn, Carmel O’Quinn and Bo O’Quinn; 1-Grandchild: Courtney O’Quinn and 1-Great-Grandchild: Jordan Ward.

Funeral Services for E.E. “RED” O’QUINN will be conducted Saturday, April 3, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Family Worship Center, Jolo, WV, with Rev. Pete Woods and Evg. Mike Rife officiating with burial to follow in O’Quinn Family Cemetery near  his Home, Jolo, WV.

Friends may call at the Family Worship Center, Jolo, WV, Friday evening at 5:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Family and Friends.
