ETHEL MABLE BURDEN HAGY, 89 years of age of Claypool Hill, VA, formerly of Buchanan County, passed away Monday, February 9, 2009 at the Mayfair House, Claypool Hill, VA, following an extended illness. Born in Morehead, KY, she was the daughter of the late Leonard Burden and Venie Purvis. She was a resident of Buchanan County for several years prior to moving to Claypool Hill and was a member of the Claypool Hill Church of Christ. She was employed at the Grundy Super Market for several years and also worked as a Private Health Caregiver.

Mrs. Hagy was preceded in death by her husband: Robert Rufus Hagy, November 20, 1968.

She is survived by 1-Sister: Elsie Stratton, Columbus, OH, 1-Sister-in-Law: Thelma Hagy, Vansant, VA

She was preceded in death by 1-Sister: Lena Belle Choate Ramey and 1-Brother: Hayes Choate, Jr.

Funeral Services for ETHEL MABLE BURDEN HAGY will be conducted Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Evg. Dennis Wimmer and Minister Larry Ratliff officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.
