ETHEL VANCE MEADOWS, 89 years of age, of Hurley, VA passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at the Good Shepherd Community Nursing Center, Phelps, KY following an extended illness. Born in Paynesville, WV, she was the daughter of the late William and Mattie Wyatt Vance. Mrs. Meadows was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church and attended Bethany Bible Church.  She was retired from the Naval Hospital in Key West, FL as a manager of the Laundry.

Mrs. Meadows was preceded in death by her 1^st Husband: Charles Lester and 2^nd Husband: Cloyd Meadows.

She is survived by: 1-Daughter: Nadine and husband Butch Justus, Hurley, VA, 1-Adopted Daughter: Nadine Marie and husband Bradley Batchelor, Las Vegas, NV, 1-Son: Archie and wife Bobbie Dotson, Abingdon, VA, 1-Brother:  Burb and wife Thelma Vance, Swords Creek, VA

Also, survived by 3-Grandsons: Tony Morales, Mark Garcia, and Jeremy Dotson. 5-Grand daughters- Deborah Ford, Pamela Garcia, Angie Baker, Tammy Lester and Connie Finchem; 16-Great-Grandchildren, 4-Great-Great-Grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by 1-Daughter: Alma Lester; 2-Sons: Alvin and James Lester; 2-Grandsons: Edward Garcia II and David Zaler; 1-Great-Grandson: Eric Zaler; 8-Sisters: Flora Kennedy, Cosby Lester, Nancy Cantrell, Ruby Wood, Mable Blankenship, Alice Dotson, Marcie Bailey and Lola Vance; and 4-Brothers: Stewart, Earl, Marvin and Lonnie Vance.

Funeral Services for ETHEL VANCE MEADOWS will be conducted Friday, March 11, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Bethany Bible Church, Kelsa, VA, with Pastor Paul Rife officiating with burial to follow in the Vance Cemetery near Paynesville, WV.

Friends may call at the Bethany Bible Church, Kelsa, VA, Thursday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.
