EURA CLEO VANDYKE RATLIFF, 80 years of age of Vansant, VA, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at her home following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late Bennie and Rosie Street Vandyke. She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and attended the Dry Fork Primitive Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and worked in Retail Sales at the Ratliff Farm & Home Supply.

Mrs. Ratliff is survived by her husband: Auburn Ratliff, Vansant, VA, 2-Daughters: Deborah and husband John Ratliff, Bristol, VA, Vivian Perry and longtime companion Larry Sparkman, Grundy, VA, 3-Sisters: Ola Gay Jewell, Williamsburg, VA, Jean Goff, Atlanta, GA, Nola Everson, Loganville, GA, 2-Brothers: Virgil and wife Anna Lee Vandyke, Abingdon, VA, Harold and wife Betty Vandyke, Vansant, VA, 2-Grandsons: John Ratliff Jr., Abingdon, VA, Jeremiah Perry, Vansant, VA, 3-Great-Grandchildren: Brooke Perry, Bluefield, VA, Morgan Fuller, Vansant, VA, Cayden Perry, Vansant, VA

She was preceded in death by 2-Sisters: Sug Cline and Freda Yates; and 5-Brothers: Kemp Vandyke, Clyde Vandyke, Buddy Vandyke, Ray Vandyke and Shorty Vandyke.

Funeral Services for EURA CLEO VANDYKE RATLIFF will be conducted Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Evg. Mike Rife and Rev. James Chapman officiating with burial to follow in the Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Friday afternoon at 5:00 P.M. with a Video Tribute at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Robert Cline, Calvin Cline, Bradley Vandyke, Mitchell Vandyke, Craig Vandyke, Jeffrey Charles and David “Slim” Hurley.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Ratliff, David Ratliff, Avery Alleman, Mike Little, Ralph Yates, Leon Yates and Butch Sheppard.
