EVA DALES THOMAS, 68 years of age of Vansant, VA, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the Buchanan General Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late Wade Maynard and Dorothy Dales. She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was of the Protestant Faith. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and was a wonderful homemaker.

Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her husband, Bascom O’Neal Thomas

She is survived by 2-Sons: Bobby Ray and wife Alice Thomas, Vansant, VA, Cecil David and wife Karen Thomas, Vansant, VA, 7-Sisters: Juanita Owens, Galax, VA, Geneva Keen, Tennessee, Bonnie Fay Sloas, Tennessee, Annette Ratliff, Haysi, VA, Audrey Ratliff, Vansant, VA, Connie Tiller, Council, VA, Jeannette Bennett, Eagle Lake, FL, 3-Brothers: Maynard Dales, Haysi, VA, Darrell Dales, Vansant, VA, Sonny Dales, Mouthcard, KY

Also, survived by 1-Grandson: Amos O’Neal Thomas, Vansant, VA.

She was preceded in death by 1-Daughter: Mary Ann Thomas; 1-Son: Freeman O’Neal Thomas, 1-Sister: Mary “Mick” Nickels and 1-Brother: Carl “Sauceman” Dales.

Funeral Services for EVA DALES THOMAS will be conducted Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Minister John Owens officiating with burial to follow in the Thomas Cemetery, Murphy, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Monday evening at 5:00 P.M. with services Monday and Tuesday evenings at 7:00 P.M.
