FERRELL FRED COLEMAN,  58 years of age of  Vansant, VA, passed away Sunday, July 4, 2010 at the Buchanan General Hospital, Grundy, VA from a brief illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Ferrell and Rosie Blankenship Coleman. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was employed as a coal miner.   He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather.     

Mr. Coleman is survived by his wife Audrey Dean Ratliff Coleman, Vansant, VA.

1-Daughter: Cynthia and husband Kennith Miller, Swords Creek, VA; 1-Son: Freddie Keith Coleman – Tedrin Christian, Vansant, VA; 8-Sisters: Georgia Boyd, Balitmore, MD,  Bernice Elswick, Grundy, VA, Nola and husband Bill Skeens, Abingdon, VA, Sylvia and husband Ronnie Frank, Radford, VA, Greathel Frank, Abingdon, VA, Peggy and husband Kennith Bayne VanDyke, Vansant, VA, Regina and husband Jeff Church, Abingdon, VA,          Brenda Coleman, Abingdon, VA, 1-Brother: James Coleman, Vansant, VA; 5-Grandchildren:  Kedrick, Amber Rose, Dustin, Drew, and Linda. Also, survived by several Nieces and Nephews. 

 He was preceded in death by 1-Sister Joan Marie Tiller and 3-Brothers: Joshua, Harold, and Richard Coleman.

Funeral Services for FERRELL FRED COLEMAN will be conducted Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Larry Ratliff officiating with burial to follow in Coleman Cemetery on Gent Branch on Leemaster, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Tim Elswick, Krestopher VanDyke, Greg Clevinger, Ron Frank, Dwayne Pruitt, Todd Anderson, Bryne Hatfield, Roger Gilbert, Tim Gearhart, Jermey Ratliff, and Tony Viers.

Special Honorary Pallbearer will be his brother James Coleman.  Honorary Pallbearers will be: Bayne VanDyke, Bill Skeens, Brian Elswick, Chuck Frank, Ronnie Coleman, Robie Bowman, Gerald Ratliff, Gary Boyd, Kenny Miller, Charles Stevens, Ron Frank, Lee Reynolds, Fonnie Boyd, and Lonnie Boyd.
