FRAN L. MERRIMAN STACEY, 75 years of age of Grundy, VA, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at the Buchanan General Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Velma Bryant Merriman, Sapulpa, OK, and the late Taze Merriman. She was a resident of Buchanan County most of her life and was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses attending the Kingdom Hall for 59-Years. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and was a wonderful homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Stacey, March 26, 2010.

Mrs. Stacey is survived by 1-Daughter: Sherrie and husband Rodney Dotson, Grundy, VA, 1-Son: J.C. Stacey, Grundy, VA, 1-Sister: Donna Wadding, Findlay, OH, 1-Brother: Charlie and wife Linda Merriman, Sapulpa, OK, 1-Jesse (Edie) Stacy, Grundy, VA

She was preceded in death by 1-Sister: Ilene Roupe.

Funeral Services for FRAN L. MERRIMAN STACEY will be conducted Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Phil Dotson officiating with burial to follow in the Stacey Cemetery on Horse Branch Road, Elkins Branch, Grundy, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Friday evening at 6:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Glen Owens, Terry Shortt, Hubert Souleyrette, Eddie Baker, Brandon Baker and Allen Stiltner.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Clint Sutherland, Sheilah Sutherland and Lois Griffey.
