FRED C. VIERS, 74 years of age, of Haysi, VA passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2008, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Haysi, VA.  Born in Dickenson County he was a son of the late Jesse and Sarah Alice Viers.  He was a life-long resident of Buchanan and Dickenson Counties and was of the Protestant Faith.  He was a retired employee from Jewell Coal and Coke Corporation and was a member of The Virginia Square Dancers.

Mr. Viers was preceded in death by his wife: Beulah Ann Owens Viers – Nov. 4, 1997

He is survived by 1-Daughter: Tammy Denise and Husband: David Matney, Morganton, NC, 3-Sons: Kennith Dean and Wife: Debbie Viers, Morganton, NC, Eddie Gene and Wife: Teresa Viers, Grundy, VA, Tony Lynn and Wife: Donna Viers, Vansant, VA, 3-Sisters: Marie and Husband: E.C. Honaker, Grundy, VA, Jeanette and Husband: Jimm Drew, Palatka, FL, Edna Izetta Turner, Bristol, VA, 4-Brothers: Thurman E. and Wife: Faye Viers, Church Hill, TN, Johnnie F. and Wife: Zay Viers, Cedar Bluff, VA, Charlie F. and Wife: Jean Viers, Palatka, FL, Eural Fayne and Wife: Pat Viers, Vansant, VA

Also, survived by 9-Grandchildren and 1-Great-Grandchild.

He is survived by a very special friend: Nina Wood, Haysi, VA

He was preceded in death by 2-Infant Brothers

Funeral Services for FRED C. VIERS will be conducted Friday, August 29, 2008, at 11:00 AM at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Evg. Mike Rife and Minister Wade McGeorge officiating with burial to follow in Green Hill Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill, VA

Friends may call at Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Thursday afternoon at 5:00 P.M.
