GARY LEE LOONEY, 62 years of age of Vansant, VA, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at the Buchanan General Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late John H. and Sarah Ella Looney. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was of the Pentecostal Faith. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and was an Employee of Harman Mining Company for 20 years and a member of the UMWA Local Union No. 7025.

Mr. Looney is survived by his wife: Faye Hale Looney, Vansant, VA,  1-Daughter: Sarah and husband Tony Shirkey, Charleston, WV, 2-Sons: Gary Lee Looney Jr., Vansant, VA, John Kevin and wife Alisha Looney, Wirtz, VA, 2-Sisters: Pinkie Looney, Vansant, VA, Sharon Thompson, Vansant, VA, 1-Brother: Jerry Wiley, Phoenix, AZ

Also, survived by 3-Grandchildren: Kaylee Looney, Jayden Looney and Natasha Shirkey; and several Nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by 4-Sisters: Hassie Brinson, Mindy Fields, Myrtle Wiley and Patty Hunter; and 4-Brothers: Ralph Looney, Cecil Looney, Andy Looney and Harvey Looney.

Funeral Services for GARY LEE LOONEY will be conducted Friday, April 2, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Ministers: Charles Hubbard and Roger Hale officiating with burial to follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Thursday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. M. V. Pillai and Dr. Ramesh Kabaria.
