GEORGIA MULLINS EVANS, 83 years of age of Vansant, VA, passed away Monday, July 7, 2008 at the Heritage Hall Nursing Home, Grundy, VA, following an extended illness. Born in West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Edom and Edgar (Curley) Matney Mullins. She was a resident of Buchanan County most of her life and was a member of Vansant Presbyterian Church. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was a former employee of the Family Shop.

Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her husband: Lewis (Bill) Evans, January 13, 1959.

She is survived by 1-Daughter: Betty and husband Ted R. Hicks, Grundy, VA, 4-Sisters: Gaynell Mullins, Vansant, VA, Helen Sword, Abingdon, VA, Regina and husband Dale Jones, Richmond, VA, Juanita and husband Butch Love, Richmond, VA, 1-Brother: Victor and wife Marty Mullins, Richmond, VA, 2-Grandchildren: Lisa and husband John Lester, Abingdon, VA, David and wife Connie Hicks, Grundy, VA

Also, survived by 4-Great-Grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral Services for GEORGIA MULLINS EVANS will be conducted Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Phyllis Canter and Evg. Mike Rife officiating with burial to follow in Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery, Richlands, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Grandsons, Nephews & Friends.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Doctors, Nurses, Staff Members of Buchanan General Hospital, Staff Members of Heritage Hall Nursing Home of Grundy, VA, and her fellow church members of Vansant Presbyterian Church.
