HASSIEL DAROLD MEADOWS, 73 years of age of the Deskins section of Vansant, VA, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2010 at the Buchanan General Hospital following an extended illness.  Born in Buchanan County on February 17, 1937, he was the son of the late Henry Harrison and Ona Ethel Cox Meadows.  He was a life long resident of Buchanan County and was loved by family and a host of friends.  He was a coal miner and truck driver.  He loved cars, trucks and motorcycles.  He loved riding motorcycles for charity organizations with his riding buddies and will be greatly missed by many.  He was of the Pentecostal Faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Harrison and Ona Ethel Cox Meadows. 

He is survived by three sisters: Geraldine and her husband Roger Daniels, Vansant, VA, Virginia M. and her husband Danny Nuckles, Raven, VA, Carol and her husband Robert Kennerly, Carrolton, VA, One Brother: Estil Harold Meadows, Newport News, VA

He is also survived by 7 nieces, 3 nephews, 15 great nephews and nieces.

Funeral services for HASSIEL DAROLD MEADOWS will be conducted Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Evg. Mike Rife and Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating with burial to follow in the Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home after 6:00 P.M. Tuesday with services Tuesday evening at 7:00 P.M.

Active pallbearers will be Bobby Ramey, David Meadows, Bo Presidio, Alvin Cox, Mark Goins, Anthony Nuckels, Hal Meadows and Kyle Meadows.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Staff of Heritage Hall, Staff of Buchanan General Hospital, Dr. H. Patel, Bill William Looney, Fred Meadows, Ron Cook and his Motorcycle Riding Buddies.
