HATTIE BELCHER MATNEY, 83 years of age of the Lesters Fork section of Hurley, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at the Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Grundy, Virginia following an extended illness.  Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Katherine Justus Belcher.  She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She was the last surviving member of her family.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Matney on February 12, 2010.

Mrs. Matney is survived by her son, Kenneth and his wife Della Matney, Chicago, IL, One Grandson – Johnny Ray Matney, Chicago, IL, One Special Sister in Law – Ruby Mullins, Swords Creek, VA, One Special Niece – Connie and her husband Rick Fuller, Vansant, VA

She was preceded in death by three sisters – Julia Belcher, Ethel Justus and Minnie Lloyd and Four Brothers – Charles, Cecil, Lee and Jim Belcher.

Funeral services for HATTIE BELCHER MATNEY will be conducted Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Rife officiating with Entombment to follow in the Greenhills Memory Garden Mausoleum at Claypool Hill, VA

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel after 5:00 P.M. Friday with services at 7:00 P.M.
