JAMES L. DEEL, 65 years of age of Grundy, VA, passed away Monday, September 1, 2008 at the Buchanan General Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late James Willard Lane and Vicey Deel. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County, a member of the Fountain of Life Tabernacle and was a retired Coal Miner.

Mr. Deel is survived by his wife: Peggy Rowe Deel, Grundy, VA, 2-Daughters: Cathy and husband Sidney Clevinger Jr., Grundy, VA, Vicky Akers, Richlands, VA, 2-Sons: Jonathan Deel, Grundy, VA, Jamie Deel, Grundy, VA, 2-Sisters: Blanche Lane and Inez Lane, 2-Step-Daughters: Phyllis Hurley, Grundy, VA, Sherry Thompson, Florida, 2-Half-Brothers: Larry and wife Brenda Lane,    Tazewell, VA, Keith and wife Karen Lane, Vansant, VA

Also, survived by 8-Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 1-Brother: Willie Deel and 1 Grandson Sidney Andrew Clevinger

Funeral Services for JAMES L. DEEL will be conducted Friday, September 5, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at the Fountain of Life Tabernacle, Vansant, VA, with Pastor Terry Colley officiating with burial to follow in the Rowe Cemetery in the Lower Mill Branch section of Grundy, VA.

Friends may call at the Fountain of Life Tabernacle, Vansant, VA, Tuesday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Everett Ratliff, Sidney Clevinger, Jr., Russell Matthews, Jonathan Meadows, Grover Keene, Avery Boyd, Jerry Bowman, Bill Elswick, Billy Rakes, Harrison Matney and Jamie Sturgeon.
