JAMES RALPH STILTNER, 83 years of age of Breaks, VA, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2010 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Calvin and Ellen Mullins Stiltner. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and was a retired Coal Mine Operator.

Mr. Stiltner was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Smith Stiltner, May 14, 1995.

He is survived by 5-Daughters: Pat Sterrick, Dayton, OH, Deborah Hess, Bluff City, TN, Donna and husband Dan Murphy, Johnson City, TN, Dinah and husband Ron Wallace, Grundy, VA, Stephanie and husband Joey Foster, Davenport, VA, 2-Sons: Gerald and wife Dana Stiltner, Grundy, VA, Johnny and wife Stefanie Stiltner, Harman, VA, 1-Daughter-in-Law: Karen Stiltner, Hickory, NC, 1-Sister: Dorothy and husband Eugene Lockhart, Grundy, VA

Also, survived by 13-Grandchildren, 6-Great-Grandchildren, several Nieces and Nephews and Special Friend: Eura Presley, Haysi, VA.

He was preceded in death by 1-Son: James Stiltner, Jr., 1-Sister: June Ruble and 2-Brothers: Harold and Earl Stiltner.

Funeral Services for JAMES RALPH STILTNER will be conducted Friday, May 14, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Shea Shrader officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Thursday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Shawn Stiltner, Gerald Stiltner, Jr., Kevin Stiltner, David Sterrick, Demetrius Abshire, Jerry Lockhart, Terry Slone and Jason Wallace.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Tom Adkins, Elster Ramey and Eugene Lockhart.

Full Military Rites will be conducted at the cemetery by Members of Childs Gentry Post # 7360 of the Veterans of Foreign War.
