JAMES W. KEEN, 86 years of age of Vansant, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at the Buchanan General Hospital following an extended illness.  Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Wiley and Clary Shortridge Keen.  He was a Logger and was of the Holiness Faith.  He was preceded in death by his wife Leona Davis Keen, January 22, 1986.

Mr. Keen is survived by Eight Daughters: Linda Sue and her husband Ted Christian, Wolford, VA, Brenda Gail Church, Vansant, VA, Glenna Gay Stevens and fiancé John Estep, Raysal, WV, Lillian Joyce and her husband Gary Hurley, Maxie, VA, Margie Ann Stiltner and fiancé Danny Fisher, Bland, VA, Sandra Kay Smith, Richlands, VA, Cindy Patricia Mullins and fiancé Lawrence Justice, Wytheville, VA, Connie and her husband John Looney, Maxie, VA, Five Sons: Ira Keen, Maxie, VA, Billy Joe and his wife Kris Keen, Nashville, TN, Bobby and his wife Irene Keen, Oakwood, VA, Darold and his wife Brenda Keen, Nashville, TN, Timothy Keen, Nashville, TN, One Adopted Son – Aaron Keen, Richlands, VA, Two Brothers -  William A. D. Keen, Oakwood, VA, John Henry Keen, Bristol, VA

He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by Two sisters – Rosa Fuller and Bertha Keen, One brother – Wylie Keen Jr., Three grandchildren – Steven Scott Stiltner, Jamie Kay Helton and Kimberly Leona Keen and Four sons-in-law – Curtis Stevens, Frenchman Church, Billy Stiltner and William Mullins.

Funeral services for JAMES W. KEEN will be conducted Friday, October 21, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Pim Griffey, James Chapman  and Perry Davis officiating with burial to follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel after 6:00 P.M. Thursday and services Thursday evening at 7 p.m.

Active pallbearers will be Billy Thacker, Bucky Harris, Scotty Hurley, T. J. Hurley, Brandon Nowlin, Shannon Hurley, J. J. Helton, and Josh Stiltner.
