JEAN ELLEN NICKLES STILTNER VARNEY, 62 years of age of Big Rock, VA, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at her home following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late Bill and Margie Ratliff Nickels. She was a loving grandmother, great-grandmother and was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County.

Mrs. Varney was preceded in death by her first husband: Kedrick Stiltner and her second husband: J.D. Varney.

She is survived by 1-Daughter: Lisa and husband Michael Stiltner, Hurley, VA, 4-Sons: Anthony (Tony) Stiltner, Grundy, VA, Robbie and wife Diedre Stiltner, Hurley, VA, Brian Stiltner, Big Rock, VA, Terry and wife Suzy Varney, Big Rock, VA, 3-Step-Children: Bill Stiltner, Myrtle Beach, SC, Bob Stiltner, Bryan, OH, Shirley Stiltner, Bristol, VA, 1-Sister: Phyllis Jackson, Patterson, VA, 3-Brothers: Tommy Nickles, Grundy, VA, Amos Nickles, Patterson, VA, Clyde Nickles, Abingdon, VA

Also, survived by 5-Grandchildren: Anthony Stiltner, Michael Stiltner, Ashley Stiltner, William Stiltner and Steven Stiltner; and 2-Step-Great-Grandchildren: Dakota Hamilton and Savannah Lester.

She was preceded in death by 1-Sister: Fannie Quinley, 1-Brother: Carl Nickles and 1-Step-Son: Charles Stiltner.

Funeral Services for JEAN ELLEN NICKLES STILTNER VARNEY will be conducted Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Deliverance Tabernacle, Patterson, VA, with Rev. Jerry Matney and Evg. Mike Rife officiating with burial to follow in the Ward Cemetery on Hale Creek, Patterson, VA.

Friends may call at the Deliverance Tabernacle, Patterson, VA, Thursday afternoon at 4:00 P.M. with services Thursday and Friday evenings at 7:00 P.M.
