JERRY GLENN BAKER, 55 years old of the Old Home Creek Road section of Grundy, Virginia, passed away Friday, April 29, 2011 in the University of Virginia Hospital at Charlottesville, Virginia following an extended illness.  Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of Henry Baker Jr and Gracie Wright Baker of Old Home Creek Road, Grundy, Virginia.  He was a disabled Coal Miner, was a 19976 graduate of Grundy Senior High School and attended New Zion Freewill Baptist Church.  He enjoyed riding and showing horses and coon hunting.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and son.

Mr. Baker is survived by his wife of seven years, Michelle Mosley Baker of Grundy, Virginia, Two daughters: Lindsay and her husband Robert Chappell, Bristol, VA, Hannah Baker, Grundy, VA, One Step Son: Devin Mosley, Grundy, VA, Two sisters: Sharon and her husband Paul Barnhardt, Tryon, NC, Sandra Ward, Grundy, VA, Two grandchildren: Madison Chappell and Gavin Chappell, Bristol, VA

He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for JERRY GLENN BAKER will be conducted Monday, May 2, 2011 at 12:00 Noon at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. E. C. Honaker and Rev. Jimmy Kerr officiating with burial to follow in the Baker Family Cemetery on Old Home Creek Road, Grundy, Virginia. 

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home after 6:00 P.M. Saturday with services Saturday and Sunday evenings at 7:00 P.M.
