JESSE GREENE RAMEY, 78 years old of Cedar Bluff, Virginia, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the Clinch Valley Medical Center following an extended illnessBorn in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Carl and Helen Virginia Roberts Ramey.  He was a member of the Claypool Hill Church of Christ, a veteran of the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict and a graduate of Grundy High School.  He was the Owner and Operator of Jesse Ramey Trucking.  Throughout his life, he was passionately involved in woodworking.

Mr. Ramey is survived by his wife, Nancy Ratliff Ramey of Cedar Bluff, VA, Two daughters: Sandra and her husband Tim Robinette, Waynesboro, VA, Vikki Cook, Daleville, VA,

Five Sisters: Betty Breeding, Big Rock, VA, Agnes Cordle, Big Rock, VA, Shirley Burnette, Pikeville, KY, Phyllis and her husband James Estep, Grundy, VA, Mary and her husband Butch Justus, Grundy, VA, Two Step Sons: Steven and his wife Tammy Stiltner, Tazewell, VA, Thomas and his wife Mitziann Stiltner, Elizabethton, TN

Eleven Grandchildren: Timothy Robinette, Jesse Robinette, Cody Robinette, Virginia Robinette, Jessica Tipton, Donnie Tipton, Kelli Coxton, Ryan Stiltner, Austin Stiltner, Garrett Stiltner and Avery Stiltner.

One Great Granddaughter – Taylor Coxton

He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Ramey was preceded in death by One Son-in-Law – Vernon Cook; Two Sisters – Martha Mae Ramey and Paula Thornburry and one Grandson – Adam Ramey.

Funeral services for JESSE GREENE RAMEY will be conducted Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Ministers Robert Smith, Sam Casebolt and Ronnie Sliger officiating with burial to follow in the Mountain Valley Memorial Park at Big Rock, Va.

Friends may call at the Grundy funeral Home after 5:00 P.M. Monday with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Nephews.

Honorary Pallbearers will be John Hobbs, Ronnie Jackson and Dennis Keene.

Full military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by members of the John Ratliff Post #164 of the American Legion.
