JIMMY COOK, 51 years of age of Vansant, VA, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2009 at his home following an extended illness. Born in Tazewell County, VA, he was the son of the late Alonzo and Ruby Boyd Cook. He was a resident of Buchanan County most of his life and was of the Christian faith. He was a loving father and was a Disabled Coal Miner.

Mr. Cook is survived by 2-Daughters: Carla Jean Cook, Linden, VA, Katherine Cook, Grundy, VA, 2-Sisters:  Brenda and husband Dennie Matney, Tazewell, VA, Sue and husband Terry Long, Paducah, KY, 1-Brother: Jerry Cook, Vansant, VA

Also, survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by 2-Sons: Clinton Cook and Jared Cook and one sister, Lonia Lou Matney.

Funeral Services for JIMMY COOK will be conducted Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Evg. Mike Rife officiating with burial to follow in Forest Hills Cemetery, Abingdon, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Kenny Stiltner, Ricky Ratliff, Bob Yates, Jeff Stiltner, Albert Cook, Terry Matney, Terry Vandyke, Robert Fuller and Danny Looney.
