
JOHN D. LITCHFIELD,
58 years of age of the dismal section of Grundy, VA, passed away
Thursday, September 2, 2010 at the Wellmont-Bristol Regional Medical Center,
Bristol, TN following a brief illness. Born May 4, 1952, in Mount Hope, WV, he
was the son of the late Charles and Rosie Mollohan Litchfield. He was a former
volunteer of the Knox Creek Fire and Rescue. He was a devoted friend to all that
knew him. A loving fiancé, stepfather, step grandfather, step great-grandfather
and step great-great-grandfather.
Mr. Litchfield was preceded in death by his first
wife, Josie Hurley Litchfield and Longtime companion, Edith Blair, 1-Brother:
Roger Litchfield, 2-Half-Brothers: Terry and William Webb, 2-Step-Daughters:
Betty Mullins and Zelda Blair, and 1-Step-Son: Greg Blair. The man that was like
a father and raised him, his uncle John Lloyd Litchfield.
He is survived by his fiancé, Evelyn Clevinger,

Taylor, Marion, IN, 2-Brothers: Charles Litchfield, Vanburen, IN, Lloyd

Grundy, VA, Ailene Justus, Grundy, VA, Irene Stiltner, Sevierville, TN, Sylvia
and husband Russell Charles, Wolford, VA, Susan and husband Richard Henegar,
Cedar Bluff, VA, 4-Step-Sons: Buddy and wife Vada Hurley, Big Rock, VA, Darrell
and wife Diane Hurley, Big Rock, VA, Troy and wife Rita Hurley, Grundy, VA,
Donald and wife Kathy Hurley, Grundy, VA
Also, survived by 34-Grandchildren,
52-Great-Grandchildren, 8-Great-Great Grandchildren and a host of friends.
Funeral Services for JOHN D. LITCHFIELD
will be conducted Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grundy Funeral
Home Chapel with Ministers: Ronald Lester and Tim Brown officiating with burial
to follow in the Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.
Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home
Chapel Sunday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services Sunday and Monday evenings at
7:00 P.M.
Active Pallbearers will be Grandsons.
