JOHN E. STILTNER, 90 years of age of Big Rock, VA, passed away Monday, September 22, 2008 at the Buchanan General Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late George and Matilda Stiltner. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a member of the Russell Prater Old Regular Baptist Church. Mr. Stiltner was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and was a retired Coal Miner. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

He is survived by his wife: Pauline Looney Stiltner, Big Rock VA, 1-Daughter: Carol Johnson and her son David Johnson, Grundy, VA, 7-Biological Sons: Leo and wife Jean Stiltner, Detroit, MI, Sandy and wife Sharon Stiltner, Defiance, OH, Rex and wife Mary Stiltner, Detroit, MI, Joe Roy Stiltner, San Francisco, CA, Jerry and wife Bonnie Stiltner, Detroit, MI, Mark Stiltner, Grundy, VA, Additional Sons: Robert Earl and wife Mary Stiltner, Clintwood, VA, Delbert Clevinger, Smith County, VA, Corbett and wife Bobbie Clevinger, Smith County, VA, Denver and wife Jin Clevinger, Richlands, VA, Hensley Clevinger, Conaway, VA, Keithel Clevinger, Conaway, VA

Also, survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Stiltner was preceded in death by his first wife: Dorothy Owens Stiltner.

Funeral Services for JOHN E. STILTNER will be conducted Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at the Bull Creek Old Regular Baptist Church, Harman, VA, with Elders: Toy Looney, Howard Daniels, Bobby Yates and Earl Dean Yates officiating with entombment to follow in Mountain Rest Mausoleum, Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Mr. Stiltner will then be moved to the Bull Creek Old Regular Baptist Church, Harman, VA, Wednesday at 12:00 Noon with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Sons and Grandsons.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Staff of Specialty Home Health, Dr. Peralta and Staff, Nurses of Buchanan General 3^rd Floor ICU, In Home Caregivers: Hazel Byers, Brenda Clevinger, Elizabeth Hurley and Tammy Lester.
