JOHNNY LESTER
(John Boy) YATES, Jr.,
38 years of
age of Vansant, VA, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2010 from injuries
sustained in an automobile accident in Princeton, WV. Born in Tazewell County,
Virginia, he was the son of the late Johnny Lester Yates Sr. and Lois Ann Looney
Yates. He was a heavy equipment operator and was employed by Rogers Service
Center as an automobile mechanic. He attended the Keen Mountain Free
Pentecostal Church.
Mr. Yates is
survived by his wife Brenda Lynn Matthews Yates of Vansant, VA, One daughter,
Hannah Grace Yates, Vansant, VA, One Step-daughter, Carol Ann Looney, Vansant,
VA, One Step-grandson, Domanic Jage Looney, Vansant, VA, Two Sisters, Debra D.
and her husband Jessie Fraley Jr., Vansant, VA, Roberta and her husband Rex
Parsons, Vansant, VA, Maternal Grandmother: Mary Magdalene Stiltner Looney,
Vansant, VA
He is also
survived by four nephews – Chris Parsons, Nathaniel Parsons, Keith Parsons and
Nathan Fraley.
He was
preceded in death by his paternal grandparents – Milton and Stella Faye Yates,
Maternal Grandfather – Hassell Arnold Looney, and one nephew Joshua Lee Compton.
Funeral
services for JOHNNY LESTER (John Boy) YATES, JR., will be conducted
Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. at the Keen Mountain Free Pentecostal
Church with Rev. Randy Webb and Rev. Danny Hess officiating with burial to
follow in the Dry Fork Cemetery on Dry Fork – Vansant, VA
Friends may
call at the Keen Mountain Free Pentecostal Church Sunday afternoon after 5:00
P.M. and there will be services Sunday and Monday evenings at 7:00 P.M.
Active
Pallbearers will be Joe Yates, Roger Coleman, Matthew Justice Brian Keen, Chad
Coleman, Ellis Johnson and Bo Justice.
Honorary
Pallbearers will be Roger Daniels, Jim Ratliff and Randy Matthews.
